The 50-50 Faith Edition marks the third release in the popular Kenyan Board Game, 50-50. This version of the game offers an engaging experience, combining faith-based knowledge with wordplay and teamwork. Objective: Players aim to be the first team to reach 500 points by successfully conveying and guessing words from each card, all while adhering to certain rules and challenges. Components: 200 Faith-Based Cards with five words on each card. 50 Pentecost Cards. A Playing Board. Five Colored Playing Tokens. One Six-Sided Dice. 50-Second Timer. Pencil and Notepad for keeping score. Rules and Glossary Booklet Setup: Form 2 to 5 teams with a minimum of two players per team. Each team selects a colored playing token. Place all the tokens on the starting square. Place the black and gold cards face down in a stack. Shuffle the Pentecost Cards and place them in a separate pile near the board. Ensure the 50-second Timer is ready. Gameplay: The team with the youngest player starts the game. One player rolls the six-sided dice and moves their team’s token along the board based on the number rolled. If a player lands on a: – Gold Square: Draw 2 cards from the Gold stack and describe the words on the card to your team without using any of the words listed. You have 50 seconds to make your team guess as many words as possible. Each correctly guessed word is worth 10 points and any points gained are written on the ‘Gain’ section of the scorecard. – Black Square: Draw a card from the Black stack and follow the same rules as per the Gold Square. – White Square (Pentecost): Once you have ensured the Pentecost cards are shuffled, draw only one card and follow the instructions to either gain or lose points. For the multiple-choice question cards, the player that picks this card reads out loud the question at the top as well as all 4 choices. The team then gets to deliberate and give a unanimous answer. The correct answer is highlighted on every card and is worth 20 points. Wrong answers are not deducted from the team. Once you are done with the question, challenge, or prompt, your turn is over for that round, and gameplay moves to the next team. NB: The Pentecost round is NOT timed and any points lost are written on the ‘Loss’ section of the score card. Word Description Dos and Dont’s: You have 50 seconds to describe any of the 5 words on both cards. You cannot mention any word on the card while describing to your teammates. Non-verbal gestures or actions are allowed. You are allowed to rhyme, make sounds, or hum a song. A player can pass on a word if their team can’t guess it. You may also continue to describe words that have been passed as long as it’s within the time limit. Scoring: Each correctly guessed word during the Gold and Black Square rounds is worth 10 points. Pentecost Cards may have varying point values, as specified on the cards. Points can be gained or lost depending on the Pentecost Card instructions. Winning the Game: The first team to reach 500 points wins the game. Game Duration: The game can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the pace of play and the number of teams participating.
